Madurai South Assembly Election Results 2026

Madurai South constituency has completed polling as part of Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 on 23rd April 2026, with results scheduled for 4th May. While several parties are contesting, the main fight is between DMK, AIADMK and Vijay’s TVK. Exit poll predictions indicate a competitive election, with different agencies giving varying forecasts.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, DMK alliance secured 133 seats while AIADMK won 60 seats. Congress also won 17 seats across the state. With actor Vijay entering politics through TVK, the 2026 elections are expected to witness a triangular contest in constituencies like Madurai South.

Party-wise Manifesto Highlights

In Madurai South, DMK, AIADMK and TVK are focusing on key voter issues such as development, jobs and social welfare through their manifesto promises.

The ruling DMK party has also mentioned in their manifesto that they will increase monthly cash assistance for women from ?1000 to ?2,000 under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, they will extend school breakfast scheme upto 8th class, an ?8,000 coupon for household appliances and continues free bus travel for women.

The AIADMK party has said in their manifesto that they will give ?10,000 one-time relief and a monthly financial aid of ?2,000 for women family heads. Free refrigerators for women ration card holders, Three free LPG cylinders per year. Free bus travel extended to both men and women and revival of 2,000 Amma Clinics.

TVK will give ?2,500 to the women heads of households as a monthly assistance, 8 grams of gold and a silk saree for brides from households with less than ?5 lakh annual income, six free LPG cylinders per year, monthly allowance of ?3,000 for senior citizens, widows, and people with disabilities. Mothers will be paid ?15,000 annual assistance to send their children to schools.

Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for polling in Madurai South constituency. Counting of votes will begin from 8 AM on 4th May 2026 and early trends are expected within a few hours.
